The life and Time of Pa Daniel Adebisi Arinde Oyinloye; The Family Head of the Oyinloye Dynasty, Aworo's Compound, Oke-Ila Orangun.

Introduction

The Bible says: Say to the righteous that, it shall be well with them. For they shall eat the fruits of their labour (Isaiah 3:10). Of a truth, Pa Daniel Adebisi Oyinloye did not qualify as a righteous. Our Lord Jesus further alluded to this in His response to the opinion of a Pharisee, saying: There is no Righteous One, except our father in heaven. However, by the grace of God and the righteousness of our Lord Christ Jesus that has been credited to him, Pa Adebisi Oyinloye’s life hallmarked divine benevolence. His life and time was phenomena. It was a spotlight of resilience, faith and unstoppable purpose. It stands to reason therefore that, his life evidently speaks volume of the biblical injunction quoted above.

Early Life

Pa Daniel Adebisi Arinde Oyinloye was born over eight decades ago into the family of Asipa Adefila Oyinloye of Aworo’s Compound in Oke-Ila Orangun. His mother hailed from Elemona’s Compound. His father was a typical Yoruba warrior; a polygamist husband of six wives. Of the six direct siblings of his mother, Adebisi was the last born. Apparently, he experienced modest yet, well cultured lifestyle typical of a precious Yoruba child. Deriving from the rich foundation and upbringing by his parents, his nurturing was not casual. Therein, he developed an impeccable character of total warmth and non-selective kindness which, apparently, enhanced the entrenchment of the tenets of hard work, honesty couple with a disarming spirit in him. It is convenient to say that, his formative years were shaped and influenced by his parents and his Nephew, the late Pa John Adeleke Adebodun. Being the last baby of his mother, his growth was fascinating right from childhood. Hence, he has imbibed the sterling character of a consummating personality from early stage of life. While we are not ruling out completely, the possibility of the infractions that teen and adolescent stages of life can trigger. From the family account, no record of hellish behavior was found in ‘Debisi as he was fondly called by the family and close acquaintances. Education and Career Life Pa Daniel Oyinloye had his elementary education at Seventh-day Adventist Primary School, Oke-Ila Orangun between 1947 and 1951. Thereafter, he proceeded to the Seventh-day Adventist Modern School, Otun-Ekiti. During his studentship at Seventh-day Adventist Modern School Otun-Ekiti, he lashed on the goodwill of his Nephew, Mr Adeleke Adebodun who was the Senior Boy of the Seventh-day Adventist Grade III Teacher Training College. Back in those years, both schools were situated in the same location called Oke-Ogba in Otun-Ekiti. As a brother of the Senior Boy, apart from the occasional privilege of free lunch, Adebisi was always spare punitive manual labour. Upon completion of the Modern III programme, he was admitted into the School of Professional Studies, Akure. There he studied and qualified as a professional Accountant. Having completed his professional studies, Pa Daniel Adebisi Oyinloye was employed by the University Press Limited (UPL), Jericho, Ibadan. He was on the employment of UPL until 1987 when, he had issue with his employer. Deriving from this unfortunate development, he was lay off unceremoniously by UPL. During the period under review, life travail dealt heavily with Pa Adebisi Oyinloye. What made it more excruciating was that, the difficulty period extended to the critical stage of the children education. Pa Daniel Adebisi Oyinloye, returned to the first occupation offered by the nature, which is farming to cater for his family. For three years, our Super Daddy explored the land to feed and clothe us. We own our sense of profound gratitude to Mrs Elizabeth Odunola Oyinloye; that is Pa Daniel Adebisi Oyinloye girl friend for live. We are talking of no less a personality than our Sweetmother, Super Mum par excellence. Mummy we are grateful to you for being there with Dad through the thick and thin. Worthy of mention was the support offered by Daddy’s brother, Mr Adedayo Oyinloye during our period of despair. We want to place on record our immense appreciation to the late Pa Daniel Adebisi father-in-law, Pa Ajayi (that is our maternal Grandfather). Lending credence to the biblical injunction about a friend like a brother, the support of Pa Joseph Omirinlewo qualitied him as one. He was Pa Daniel Adebisi Oyinloye’s childhood friend. He stood by our Daddy like a brother. What about the God sent help within the Church! We are eternally thankful to Pa Aina, Mr Bamisaye, Elder and Mrs Oke (all of Seventh-day Adventist Church, Oke-Bola, Ibadan). To say that the the experience was rough and tough is an understatement. Tough time they say, never last, but tough people do. Through the availing prayers of the righteous, God stepped into our situation and the storm ceased. Pa Daniel Adebisi Oyinloye was vindicated eventually. He was employed by Cedar Enterprises Limited to continue in his career. A thorough accountant bluff, Pa Daniel Oyinloye brooked no non-sense. Gentle and meek though, it could only be that, he was a father with uncommon pedigree; very painstaking in his dealings to the extent that, the carriage of his affection went beyond description. Pa Daniel Adebisi Oyinloye, a highly esteemed Dad decked with native intelligence; exceedingly celebrated for his development approach to child upbringing, infused with humour and deep affection for all who came across him. Nevertheless, Adebisi spirit was gentle, his strength was enormous. His voice very calm, but his impact superlatively loud which, earned him an everlasting impression of endearing father. With sharp mind and warm heart toward all and sundry, he succeeded in imparting the upcoming generation with monumental empowerment. Pa Daniel Oyinloye’s sagacity coupled with his interpersonal relationship made him to be cherished by all who had the privilege to know him inside out. His remarkable ability to listen and comprehend even the most cumbersome encounter defined him as a distinguished Oyinloye Dynasty Head. His burning for a better tomorrow which, he honestly, brokered through his industry evoked in his children their overwhelming goodwill for everything that was his.

Marriage and Family Life

Sir Winston Leonard Spencer Churchill, British Prime Minister (1940-1945) once asked rhetorically: Where does family start? Sir Churchill stated further; it starts with a young man falling in love with a girl. No superior affirmative has yet been found. Back in time, Sister Odunola Ajayi a damsel; a paragon of beauty, glamour and goodwill so to say stole Adebisi’s heart. Born and bread in Oke-Ila Orangun like Brother Adebisi, it was no stress for him to spot out this Cinderella. The narrative has it that, the love overture made by ‘Debisi to Odunola was like being hit by a thunderbolt as the Italian would say. The two lover birds were engaged in a relationship which altruistically, ended in marriage in 1975. Five decades down the line, Pa Debisi Oyinloye did not shark in his duties as husband to his debonair wife and responsible father to his children. By God’s grace, he built a family that is reputed for values and value addition in all ramification. Together with his wife, they submitted their home for God to use as the base for securing great future for both their biological and adopted children. Well schooled and cultured in the tenets of godly family, Pa Daniel Adebisi Oyinloye in his humility, became not only the best boy friend for life to Madam Elizabeth Odunola Oyinloye Nee Ajayi, but also a gifted father to people too numerous to capture in print.

Faith and Christian Life

A devoted Christian, Pa Daniel Adebisi Oyinloye was a man of faith by the use of the word. He was not born into the Seventh-day Adventist fold. Salient as this, it is incumbent to add that, Pa Adebisi got converted to the Seventh-day Adventist Church out of conviction. That is to say, he was not just Adventist only by name or for any social reason. By biblical standard he was Adventist personified. Characteristically, his conducts both in the private and public resonated with the godly life expected of Christians. Yours truly, that Pa Daniel Adebisi Oyinloye illuminated and touched lives in diverse ways is a statement of fact. Pa Adebisi Oyinloye has a reputation for goodwill. His life preached a silent sermon of unwavering faith and divine strength. There is hardly anything he could not give into the service of the Master. Very humble and compassionate to a fault. This is leadership; this is humanity. His life bore eloquent testimony that, faith works, courage wins and integrity shines always. He served as the Church Treasurer of Seventh-day Adventist Church, Oke-Bola for many years. To the glory of God, he was a strong member of Adventist Men’s Organization (AMO)

Character and Legacy

To say that our father was an exemplary loving disciplinarian and a strong-willed man is incontrovertible. From the public view, the Oyinloye’s family can best be defined by the character trait of good etiquette epitomized by Pa Adebisi Arinde Oyinloye. In every sense, Pa Adebisi Oyinloye with his remarkable accommodating spirit, exuded simplicity and good sense of acknowledgement in an unambiguous manner. His tenure as the Head of Oyinloye Dynasty was noted for peace and unprecedented understanding. He was a rare combination of a Super Dad and adept family man; illuminating lives with his warmth and magnificent gesture everyone. An embodiment of industry, grace and kindheartedness to humanity; that he was a model for young men in this generation dovetailed with the good features inherent in his root. A respected community leader, and a man of intelligence and grace. His life was a true reflection of his faith and the enduring values of Seventh-day Adventist Church. Needless saying it that, Pa Daniel Adebisi Oyinloye stood firmly for the truth and lived in humble service to God and humanity. Today we congregate to honour his journey on earth and salute his legacies.

Survived By

At last, the world sees Adebisi Oyinloye’s light. Hearty Congratulations to the Oyinloye Dynasty, where he was born. Pa Daniel Adebisi Arinde Oyinloye was survived by children, in-laws, grandchildren, Brothers, Sisters, Uncles, Aunties, Nephews, Cousins and Friends; all of who continue to eulogize his memory and uphold his legacy of faith and love. One of Daddy's cherished legacies is the hymn found in N.A.H 448, Yoruba Hymnal of Seventh-day Adventist Church 357 Ojo n la l' ojo ti mo yan, Olugbala l' Olorun mi. O ye ki okan mi mas yo, K' o si ro ihin naa Ka 'le. Egbe: Ojo n la l' ojo naa, Ti Jesu we ese mi nu. O ko mi ki n maa gbadura, Ki n maa so ra, ki n si maa, Ojo n la l' ojo naa, Ti Jesu we ese mi nu.
